UK law enforcement is a collaboration. Tonight it was a true privilege and pleasure to attend a dinner that falls on 999 day where we recognise the emergency services. It was an opportunity to meet with police representatives from across the country, alongside diverse others that keep us safe - but the highlight was the chance to hear from the Director General of MI5 - Ken McCallum.
When you hear first hand the daily threat we face, especially in terrorism and cyber security attacks, often from foreign state actors, you realise how lucky we are in the UK to enjoy professional protection from our security services, police and wider law enforcement. The City of London Police are at the front line keeping us safe on the streets physically and from cyber and economic crime. It is a privilege to play a small role working with them.
