Business is a force for good, and tonight Marsh McLennan (located in Tower Ward in the City of London) proved it yet again.
For nearly 4 years they have been in a partnership with Ambitious About Autism supporting greater understanding of autism, raising funds and helping people find work opportunities.
Ambitious About Autism is a fantastic charity supporting autistic children and young people, championing their rights and creating opportunities. They run specialist education services, and an employment programme. Their employment support really matters because the opportunities for autistic people are shockingly low - thanks to the charity I learnt today that only 29% of autistic people are in full or part-time employment, even though the vast majority want to work. It was a privilege to hear the positive impact the partnership has had for those that obtained apprenticeships and jobs via the programme - too often we hear a negative view of business but tonight shows how positive it can be.
