The Lord Mayor toured the Market with the Chairman of the Tenants’ Association, Greg Lawrence, together with myself and the Chairman of the markets committee. Following the tour, the visitors attended an excellent breakfast hosted by the Smithfield Market Tenants’ Association at Haberdashers’ Hall. There were around120 guests, including members of the Court of Common Council, our local MP Mark Field, officers of the City of London, representatives of Crossrail and a wide range of other organisations with links to the Market and surrounding area such as Charterhouse. It was a wonderful morning.
