I was delighted to talk to the Secretary of State for Trade, Liz Truss about our trading future on Sunday. She spoke of Britain being a low-tax, flexible economy after it leaves the European Union, and with a focus on early trade deals with; the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the CPTTP (the Pacific focused Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership). It’s very encouraging to hear a minister focused on the positive changes to our future relationships and I hope she is successful in her negotiations to achieve many such deals.
