International activation project The Walk comes to the City this Saturday with ‘Little Amal’, a 3.5 metre-tall puppet of a young refugee girl, created by Handspring Puppet Company.
- Representing displaced children the world over, Little Amal has walked across Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and is now in the UK, with a finale event scheduled for Manchester in November.
- On Saturday she will travel through the City, beginning her day at 09:45 with a multifaith blessing on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral before walking across Millennium Bridge to the South Bank.
- The organisers have been working with St Paul’s on community engagement for this event which is likely to see the puppet stay no longer than 45 minutes in the City.
