Wardmotes are Ward meetings that are held annually to provide an opportunity for the electorate to ask questions of their representatives, and we had much to discuss this evening including 2 resolutions. The first of which I proposed concerning a need to review Bank junction.
Since the introduction of restrictions on Black Cabs across Bank Junction we have seen a reduced number of taxis and an impact on the square mile’s taxi availability.
In moving the resolution I noted that:
87% of cab drivers have changed their working patterns in relation to the Bank area since restrictions came in with 35% avoiding the City of London completely.
I was therefore delighted that our Ward Mote RESOLVED: That the Corporation of London be asked to urgently expedite the review of these restrictions as to whether Black Cab access be restored to Bank Junction 24/7 365 days per year.
