Transport for London (TfL) is proposing two continuous, largely segregated routes.
East-West Cycle Superhighway
This route would run between Tower Hill and Acton, connected to the Cycle Superhighway Route 3. From Tower Hill it would run along Lower and Upper Thames Street, along Victoria Embankment, in the City, across Parliament Square, through St James's Park, Green and Hyde Parks, over the Westway flyover to Wood Lane and from there along Western Avenue (A40) to Acton.
North-South Cycle Superhighway
This would start at Elephant and Castle, connected to Cycle Superhighway Route Route 7. It would continue on St George's Road, along Blackfriars Road, across Blackfriars Bridge, connecting to the East-West Superhighway on the north bank of the Thames before continuing to Kings Cross on New Bridge Street, Farringdon Street, Farringdon Road and some quieter backstreets.
