Today ended with a reception at the fabulous down town offices of EY in Toronto, who kindly hosted a session on preparing for brexit and opportunities in the tech space between the UK and Canada. The event was supported by the Department for Trade and the City of London and saw a packed room listen to a Q and A with the Chairman of Barclays Canada, the Lord Mayor, Bloomberg’s host of Business Day, and the CEO of AGF Managment. Whilst there were areas of concern there was real interest in creating a tech bridge between the UK and Canada, an upbeat view on the opportunity if a level playing field for visas between Europe and America, and it was good to hear that London’s attraction remains ahead of other European cities.
