Tonight we highlighted to the government and all sides of parliament the work we do to promote the City of London and its importance to the economy.
It was a great chance to talk of our Destination City project, to celebrate the Square Mile’s history and heritage, champion its world-class arts and culture, and promote its leisure offering.
We were able to note our progress on moving our famous Food Markets which is subject to a parliamentary bill.
We could talk of our investment in the new Justice Hub and the Centre for Financial Innovation and Technology to maintain the UK’s dominant position in fintech.
All in all I think it speaks of great effort to keep the City successful. I want our City to thrive, and we need financial and professional services to remain world class as part of the national economy.
