Today I was privileged to attend the commeration of the 75th anniversiary of the Battle of Britain. Something important to us all, and a moment in history I feel closely as my grandfather was stationed at Uxbridge during the battle. This year the emphasis at the service in St Paul's Cathedral was on those who supported the 'few,' importalised in Churchill's words:
"Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."
Today we remembered 'everyone' who enabled our pilots to fight; the radar operators, air raid wardens, firefighters, nurses and maintenance teams who kept our pilots in the Battle of Britain. A moving day and one I shall not forget.
