We are most lucky to have a ward with generous and wonderful hotels, and it was proven again tonight when the City Grange hosted the Tower Ward Reception. One of our regular events to meet friends and electors of the ward of Tower.
Alderman Sir Paul Judge welcomed our guests and regailed all with ward news. We were also joined by the Aldgate Partnership and City of London officers to update us on the progress toward the new Aldgate. Aldgate once the eastern-most gateway through the London Wall leading from the City of London to Whitechapel and the East End of London, it is soon to complete a redevelopment. The changes to the traffic layout occurred today, and the finished project will provide new pedestrian crossing points, allow easier navigation of bus services and introduce two new public spaces on the eastern edge of the City of London. The centrepiece of the scheme is a large public space uniting two heritage listed buildings: Sir John Cass’s Foundation Primary School and the St Botolph without Aldgate Church.
Thank you to all who attended
